The work included widening the existing two-lane roadway to 3 or 4 four lanes, with several turn pockets. The project included constructing a new roadway section, substantial AC pavement, unsuitable material removal, a slurry seal, extensive median and perimeter landscaping, utility relocations, storm drains, a traffic signal, street lighting, meandering walks, and various other aesthetic features.  It also involved the removal and phased reconstruction of a conventionally reinforced, slab-on-pile bridge over a sensitive water way.
