With more than 25 years of facilities management, program management, construction oversight and public works experience, Mr. Reyes brings a formidable record of senior leadership in a variety of capacities. His roles have included being Division Director for Facilities at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Facilities at the University of California, Irvine, and Deputy Director of Facilities at the University of California, Davis. His responsibilities have spanned Capital/Environmental/Physical Planning, Design & Construction, Emergency Planning and Operations, Energy Management, Fire & Life Safety Programs, Human Resources, Maintenance & Operations, Lease/Property Management, Utilities, Mail, Material Management, Fleet/Fuel Services, and Shuttle Services. He has been the senior supervisor and manager for as many as 700 employees and managed operating budgets of up to $50 million and capital budgets of up to $500 million. He is well versed on educational, state, and federal construction processes and has overseen projects utilizing a broad range of delivery methods. Mr. Reyes has also been an instructor in project management training courses. Those courses have included project management definitions, project initiation, cost management, record keeping, scheduling, team building, claims management, risk management, project close out and other relevant subject matter. Mr. Reyes’ extensive experience and expertise, coupled with his professional demeanor and insight, allows him to jump into any phase of a construction or development project, or any type of program management role, and bring significant added value to the project team.
SELECTED EXPERIENCE
DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY MOLECULAR FOUNDRY NANOTECHNOLOGY FACILITY - Berkeley, CA - Construction Value: $96 million. The facility was constructed in a challenging mountain environment with a 60 ft. deep excavation for the building footing and underground vibration-sensitive research laboratory. Construction of this facility entailed addressing numerous environmental, community and geotechnical challenges that come with complex construction in an urban/wild lands border area. The design was a four story cantilever structure with a separate utilities building.
SITEWIDE WATER DISTRIBUTION PROJECT -
Berkeley, CA - Construction Value: $8 million. The scope of this project included the replacement of 1.5 km of cast iron pipe with ductile iron, install cathodic protection on 1.9 km of cement-lined coated steel pipe, install new or replace approximately 100 pressure reducing and isolation valves, complete seismic upgrade of an existing fire protection water storage tank, and construct a new 200,000 gallon fire water storage tank including the construction of a service access road.

Project Value: $12,000. The industry principles were conformed to be consistent with the California State University project management forms and process. The project was structured to provide the CSU staff with the underlying principles and practices of project management consistent with Project Management Institute guidelines.
