Mr. Salaber is a Civil Engineer with over 41 years of experience in the design of complex transportation projects, highway and transit facilities, military and industrial facilities, rail projects, and sewage/water treatment facilities. He has been a Project Engineer and Manager on many final design projects where he has also supervised construction document preparation and services during construction. As a Project Manager, Mr. Salaber has been in charge of multi-discipline teams with subconsultant team members. Many of his projects have been on existing facilities where they had to remain in operation during construction (i.e. freeways, airports). He is particularly specialized in highway planning, highway and railway geometrics, drainage design, traffic engineering, utilities engineering, design of rail transit track and yard facilities, and vehicle maintenance facilities. His areas of responsibility have included: agency coordination, schedule and budget control, presentations, arranging for the preparation of photogrammetry and surveys; the design of earthwork; final geotechnical reports; drainage, paving, structures, signals, lighting, landscaping, security, and fencing; and the provision of access and utility services. Mr. Salaber has successfully completed projects in Central America , Portugal and in the states of California , Washington , and Georgia . Mr. Salaber is well known and respected as an engineer who is intelligent, cooperative, and has the natural ability to foster positive and productive working relationships.

Selected Experience

OAKLAND AIRPORT ROADWAY PROJECT – Oakland, CA - Construction Cost: $60 million - Mr. Salaber was the Deputy Project Manager of a multi-disciplined team of consultants for the conceptual through final design of improvements to the existing road system linking I-880 in Oakland and Alameda to the Metropolitan Oakland International Airport.  The project included widening and extension of local streets, two highway interchanges and one taxiway grade separation, pumping plants, extensive relocation and upgrading of utilities, lighting, signals, wetland impacts, and landscaping.

TRANSISTHMIAN HIGHWAY - Panama, Central America – Mr.Salaber was the Project Engineer responsible for interchange geometrics for the final design of this 22-mile major highway linking Colon with Panama City.

CALTRAIN EXTENSION TO DOWNTOWN SAN FRANCISCO – San Francisco, CA – Construction Cost: $600 million - As the Project Engineer Mr. Salaber was responsible for the preparation of engineering studies and preliminary drawings for extension of Caltrain commuter rail.  Work included detailed geotechnical investigations, alternative alignments and yards and detailed total cost estimates.
