SAI is currently providing on-call private development inspection services on this project which consists of 52 lots for future homes and a one-acre park. The project includes grading and removing excess soil, all underground utilities, American with Disability Act (ADA) curb ramps, sidewalk, curb, gutter, stamped sidewalk, full depth street construction, street lighting and landscaping. A masonry sound wall surrounds the subdivision and several retaining walls were built inside the area. The contractor worked 10-hour days to ensure that the project was completed ahead of schedule. The inspector’s responsibilities included daily field inspections, daily reports and project photos on the City of Lincoln Virtual Project Management (VPM) system, project/plan adherence, witnessing pressure testing water mains, taking water samples to be tested by approved laboratory, pressure test and video camera all sewer mains and laterals, vacuum test all sewer manholes, responding to project questions and concerns, verify SWPPP / BMP adherence, certify ADA ramps and sidewalks, coordinate with material testing firm, provide quality assurance on subgrade, finish grade, hot mix asphalt (HMA) and concrete, verify traffic control, witness pressure tested irrigation main line, inspect plants and sod once delivered, provide punch list at the end of the project, and complete the final walk through.
