Project Overview

Salaber Associates provided inspection and construction administration services for Placer County Public Works Department. This high-profile project was the 3rd and final phase of widening Auburn Folsom Road from Douglas Road to the Sacramento County line from two lanes to four lanes. The North Phase project limits were from Douglas Road to Bell Drive. Auburn Folsom Construction improvements included removing approximately 100 trees, an extensive waterline system (6”, 8”, 12”, 18”, 24” DIP) and services for San Juan Water District (SJWD), multiple drainage lines and drain inlets, signal modifications at three intersections, 24’ x 116’ single span cast-in-place concrete bridge (culvert) at Linda Creek, curb, gutter and sidewalk, concrete median, asphalt concrete placement and overlay, signing, striping, irrigation and landscaping. This complex project consisted of six construction stages and required extensive coordination with SJWD during waterline construction, PG&E, as well as with the area residents. In addition, working in Linda Creek required permit compliance with Army Corps of Engineers, Central Regional Water Quality Control Board and California Department of Fish and Game. The SAI Team worked with the design engineer (Dokken Engineering), County Project Manager, and SJWD to resolve field issues.
