Project Overview

SAI provided the lead Resident Construction Inspector (RCI) on this politically sensitive project that required extensive customer outreach and interaction. In addition to inspection duties, SAI provided the primary RCI that attended the Public Outreach Meetings for the Utilities Department to answer questions and address construction related concerns from the public. These meetings were considered a great success with the passage of the water rate increase, which allowed the accelerated meter program to continue. This project involved more than 4,000 retrofitted meters, including both residential and hundreds of commercial meters. Meter installations included HR/E High Resolution Encoder and Recordall Disc Meters. This time sensitive project required the RCI to work closely with the contractor crews in order to facilitate installations and meet deadlines. His responsibilities included monitoring and verifying installations, constantly interacting with residential and commercial customers, documenting and verifying quantities, daily reports with equipment and manpower, and labor compliance interviews.
