Services Provided: Resident Engineer and Inspection Services

SAI provided Resident Engineer and inspection services for this important project in front of the Mills Middle School. This project was funded under the Safe Routes to School and was administered in accordance with Caltrans Local Assistance Procedures Manual. The project consisted of completely upgrading the existing pedestrian traffic signal to current standards. Construction improvements included removal and replacement of existing pedestrian signal poles, LED streetlights, removal and replacement of existing curb, gutter, sidewalk and sidewalk ramp improvements, construction of new median, placing slurry seal, installation of new detector loops, handholes, conductors, conduit, pull boxes, thermoplastic striping and markings. Construction administration and inspection duties included review and approval of submittals, processing progress payments and tracking bid item quantities; negotiating and issuing Contract Change Orders, review Certified Payroll and perform labor compliance interviews.
